If you are looking for relaxing weekend outing minus the shopping and crowd, why not go east to Triang (Teriang), the hidden gems of Pahang.
Although Triang is not a tourism destination, there is always something you can do in Triang. People here are friendly and nice, while the air is fresh. Triang is a truly relaxing destination.
Getting There
You can reach Triang by train, bus or self drive which take about 2 1/2 hours from KL. By driving you will passby town like Temerloh and Mentakab once exiting the East Coast Expressway.
Background
Triang get it name from the Triang river, hence the town was named Triang. Triang was once a rubber estate town which grown into the developed town as today. According to the local most of them earn their living from the rubber estate. While today it has not only rubber estate but it also has oil palm as well.
Today Triang consist of commercial shopping like TF Value Mart, BS Fresh Mart and even well known with international fast food chain like KFC and McDonalds. It not just a small town like we known before. It is well developed lately. There is also a clinic, a primary and secondary school.

Chinese New Year Night at Triang - Chinese New Year Decoration during Chinese New Year especially night, and during 8th days of Chinese New Year you can also see a lot of fire cracker set by local.

If you need to buy some necessity there don't worry as there is supermarket to fulfils your needs.
The local food is Triang is not too commercialize as in Kuala Lumpur, most of their food are not too salty and have a large potion with cheaper price too. Their beverage like tea, coffee and Milo (chocolate) have thicker taste compare to KL counterpart which is too dilute. Food I have tried recommended as per below. There are many others Chinese Kopitiam and eatery too, you can ask the locale or the hotel for recommendation and direction..
